About the Cyprus Golf Federation
The Cyprus Golf Federation (CGF) is the official governing body for the sport of golf in the Republic of Cyprus. Established in 2000, the Federation is responsible for the governance, development, and promotion of amateur golf throughout the island. It administers the World Handicap System (WHS), manages official handicaps for registered golfers, and organizes the country’s premier national and international amateur championships.
Among its flagship events are the Cyprus Junior Open, the Cyprus Amateur Men’s Open, and the Cyprus Amateur Seniors’ and Super Seniors’ Men’s and Ladies’ Opens, which attract competitors from Cyprus and overseas.
The CGF is officially recognised by the Cyprus Sports Organization (CSO) and is registered with the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) as the governing body for the sport of golf in Cyprus. It represents a growing community of more than 1,200 registered golfers and is affiliated with the International Golf Federation (IGF), the European Golf Association (EGA), and The R&A, ensuring that golf in Cyprus is administered in accordance with internationally recognised rules, standards, and best practices.
As the Area Authority for the World Handicap System in the Republic of Cyprus, the CGF is responsible for its oversight, administration, and implementation throughout the island. The Federation is licensed by the USGA to carry out the Course Rating™ and Slope Rating™ of all affiliated golf courses in Cyprus and to produce the official Course Handicap™ Tables for each course. Through the MyCGF Portal, registered golfers can view their Handicap Index® (HI), submit acceptable scores, monitor their handicap record, and access a range of online player services.

How can I become a member of the Cyprus Golf Federation (CGF)?
The Cyprus Golf Federation (CGF) does not offer direct membership to individual golfers. To obtain a CGF licence and an official Handicap Index® (HI), you must first become a member of a golf club affiliated with the Federation. Once your club membership has been approved, the club will apply for your CGF licence on your behalf.

What are the CGF licence fees?
A CGF licence is valid for one calendar year and expires on 31 December, regardless of the date of issue. Licences are renewable annually from 1 January.
The annual licence fee is:
• €50 for licences issued or renewed between 1 January and 30 September.
• €20 for licences issued or renewed between 1 October and 31 December.
• €2.50 nominal Federation Licence Fee applies to all junior members who are under 18 years of age on 1 January of the relevant membership year.
The reduced fee applies only for the remainder of the current calendar year. A full annual licence fee will be payable again from 1 January for the following calendar year.
